Hey there, I’m Kimberlee Aine, a writer and lifestyle blogger based in London.
Inspired by Nature, I live on a narrow-boat, where I write about living with depression, teeny miracles and finding beauty in unexpected places.
Before being diagnosed with depression, I was a personal trainer with a passion for exercise. But as the severity of depression worsened, my life changed dramatically.
Following my diagnosis I thought curing my depression would give my life back. But I’ve since learned a very painful truth: recovery cannot be distilled into a specific formula, outcome or time frame.
Everyone experiences depression differently and I write in the hope of raising awareness and dissolving the stigma around mental health.
The stigma around mental illness meant for the longest time, I denied my body and mind the biochemical support it needed. The truth is anti-depressants saved my life, without them I wouldn’t be able to function, let alone blog.
I created Brave Treasures around the kind of support I yearn for on my darkest days.
Here on the blog I share personal challenges and triumphs, and topics such as wellness for body and mind, creativity (brave makes), self care and mindfulness.
